Although we tweaked Snow node to simulate primarily sticky snow, it uses quite complex physical model, which allows to apply this node not only for snow, but use it creatively in many other cases indeed (thin dust cover, loose water simulation, lava flows, mudslides, glaciers, etc).
When we developed this node, we also tried to tweak physical model to simulate viscous liquid just for fun, and got quite nice simulation of lava flows.
Probably we can extend the physical model of Snow node in some future to model other processes. As for now we encourage the creative ways of use of current physical model.
