I am trying to use Gaea to edit a detailed equirectangular map image I found into a usable greyscale heightmap. The game I am trying to export to uses cubemaps for planet texturing (16-bit, 72ppi, PNG). While I have read that Gaea can't (yet, at least) import equirectangular/panorama files and forces a square, I am most concerned with splitting the output PNG image into 6 equal squares for projection onto a cube. The file does not need to be a single stitched-together cubemap, I would just need to be able to save each face of the cube separately (e.g., files named "front", "back", "left", "right", "up", "down"). Is this possible with the freeware version or even one of the paid versions? Thanks for any information you can provide.
